How it Works

1. Prepare your workspace: Grab a coffee and put on some music to set the mood. This process takes 10-15 minutes and requires patience. Choose a table with minimal obstructions for the best results.

2. Organize the letter labels: Remove the letter labels from the white arctic storage pouch and arrange them on the assembly sheet. Don't remove the labels from the plastic bags, as you may mix them up.

3. Assemble your passphrase: Carefully pick out the letters one by one to spell your mnemonic phrase or other secret words. Use a blank label between each word. Lay the assembled labels in front of you.

4. Place the labels on the pin: Unscrew the Arctic Storage capsule. Start adding the letter labels to the pin with the letters facing up. You should insert the first letter of the first word on the pin, and then proceed so that the last letter of the last word is the final label on the pin.

4. Secure the labels: Fasten the pin by folding the fastener to keep the labels in place and prevent them from falling off.

6. Verify the passphrase: Lay the capsule lid on the table and make sure you can easily read the passphrase on the assembled pin. When reading your mnemonic phrase or password, do not remove the pin! You can simply read the words by viewing the labels on an angle as shown below.

7. Seal and store: Screw the capsule shut and find a safe place to store your Arctic Storage tube, protecting your passphrase for generations.

If you are storing the capsule in a safe deposit box or other location, feel free to use the luxury storage box your capsule arrived in. Many customers store their hardware wallet (Trezor, Ledger, etc) alongside their capsule to assist future generations with recovery.
